Awards

National Security

Public safety and internal security were at the core of Himanshu Roy’s professional life. He deeply respected those who protect society — often under pressure, often away from the public eye, and always with a responsibility that extends far beyond duty and their job description.

This award honours individuals and teams whose work has made a meaningful contribution to national or internal security. It recognises:

  • Courage in the face of risk,
  • Leadership under pressure,
  • Ethical conduct in protecting lives, maintaining public order, and safeguarding national interests.

If you are part of this ecosystem, or know someone whose work quietly keeps others safe, this is an opportunity to bring that contribution into the light.

Eligibility:

Professionals from Law Enforcement, Intelligence, National Security agencies, Civil Defence forces, Counter-terrorism units, and allied security services.

Medicine

Himanshu Roy’s father, Dr. Praful Roy Dasondi, was a medical doctor. Though the son chose a different path, he carried a deep respect for doctors and healthcare professionals who combine skill with compassion. He often spoke of the strength it takes to stand by patients through uncertainty, to make difficult decisions, and to serve with both professionalism and kindness.

Himanshu inspired his father-in-law Dr. V.K. Tripathi to develop the HrC (Himanshu Roy Cancer) Test — a breakthrough cancer screening that detects the disease at Stage 0. This innovation carries the power to save millions of lives worldwide.

This award honours medical professionals whose work has made a genuine difference in patients’ lives — through care, research, innovation, or sustained service. It recognises:

  • Dedication to the well being of others,
  • Responsibility in high-pressure situations,
  • Ethical practice and empathy in healing.

Those who believe their work, or that of a colleague or mentor, reflects this commitment are encouraged to come forward.

Eligibility:

Doctors, surgeons, medical specialists, researchers, medical staff, healthcare professionals, medical educators, and medical students.

Music

Indian classical music — both Hindustani and Karnatak — and semi-classical music were a profound and enduring passion for Himanshu Roy. He admired the discipline it demands, the years of diligent practice behind every performance, and the role of music in shaping balance, thought, and culture.

This award honours individuals who have contributed meaningfully to Indian classical and semi-classical music through performance, teaching, mentorship, or the preservation of tradition. It recognises:

  • Sustained effort and deep craft,
  • Commitment to the art form beyond popularity,
  • The quiet, daily work that keeps a tradition alive.

Musicians and practitioners who feel their journey has added value to the art form, or who wish to nominate someone they deeply admire, are encouraged to apply.

Eligibility:

Classical vocalists, instrumentalists, gurus, accompanists, music educators, scholars, and cultural practitioners.
